keeping up
Jun. 24th, 2005 12:19 amWhen I read this, I was dismayed, because I thought we just aren't doing all we can in making anthropomorphic robot guardianas a part of our everyday lives.
Then I read this, and I think I'm reassured. Not only will this be more anthropomorphic, but it'll also be ironic: what better tribute to Philip K. Dick -- one of my favorite paranoid authors, a man who thought that pink laser beams were beaming ideas into his head and that everyday events in the 20th century mirrored those in Jerusalem 2000 years ago -- than a robot programmed to act like him? It'll be a Philip K. Dick simulacrum with reason to be paranoid! Brilliant!
