The Chicago Tribune has a blurb about the Daily Show viewership debacle today. And they have a little quiz meant to test the knowledge of late-night TV watchers. I suspect that I no longer qualify since I a) no longer have cable, and b) listen to the radio & read the newspapers.

They also have a debate drinking game. I thoroughly disagree with the "presidential debates are a nuisance" assertion. Anyone who thinks that shouldn't bother watching (or drinking, for that matter). But on the other hand, I do think that "chug[ging an] entire drink for variations on 'compassionate conservative'" makes sense. (And does Kerry point with his left hand a lot? I'd never noticed.)

The quiz was awfully easy. My results:
You got 6 out of 6 correct on your first attempt.

Excellent work! But when do you sleep?

Check your score against these averages:
- "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart viewers - 3.59 correct
- "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno viewers - 2.95 correct
- "Late Show" with David Letterman viewers - 2.91 correct
- No late-night comedy viewing - 2.62 correct

Just for grins, run this post (or your friendslist, which is how the idea occurred to me :-)) through this translator.

The entire Daily Show vs. others thing amuses me greatly. I got 5 out of 6 -- I blew the one with how much money people who benefit from Bush's tax cuts most make, according to Kerry.

Unfortunately, I won't be watching the debate when it airs tomorrow night because I want to see Cornel West speak at Stanford. But I'll get Tivo to record it for me.

That was the only question that was tricky, I thought.

Mmm, Tivo. I hear Tivo makes lives better, when it doesn't stress you out because you have this enormous backlog of TV to watch. How do you like it?

Only one I got wrong as well. How DOES one get only 2 or 3 right? The question isn't "when do you sleep" for those who get many right, it's "do you live in a groundhog hole?" for those who don't.

Heh, I was going to blog about this, but then thought, naah Mike'll be on top of it. :) Glad to see I was right.

Of course! You know me too well. "Hmm, Mike is still working on these final reports for the two year project they're just finishing at his work, so I bet he's distractedly reading the web instead..."

BTW, I know others have said it, but that's a very cute Stella picture.

Well that's what I figured, and besides I was too busy blogging about the space launch anyway.

Thanks for the compliments, Stella appreciates them. Though I think she doesn't care for the dropping temps. It was mid 70's to low 80's for the past few weeks, and yesterday it was a high of 62. She did NOT want to come out and play last night.
