No, it's not that bad yet, but the spam race is heating up. There are lots of good anti-spam tools out there, sure, and their use is growing, but the spammers are increasing their sophistication. How about this attempt to defeat whitelists and topic filters:

The email address is clearly fake, but Sonja Keene seems to be a common mispelling of Sonya Keene, who wrote Object-Oriented Programming in Common Lisp: A Programmer's Guide to CLOS. And the list "she" spammed is the help list for CMUCL, a good free Lisp implementation.

Targetted spamming, hooking up names without getting into people's address books! Sheesh!
