I can't stay quiet any longer!
Sep. 20th, 2004 06:17 pmHi! I've been back for a week now, quietly working like a busy beaver after spending two wonderful weeks in Iowa and Hawaii. And I've tried to stay quiet and not get distracted, because oh, is there a lot of work to be caught up on. But I can't stay quiet any more -- this is Just Too Much.
CNN's list of 4 more major changes to the original Star Wars trilogy as released on DVD just now. Aieeeee! What has he done?!
(Their list says 5 changes, but one was an undoing a previous change, so I'm not counting that.)

Date: 2004-09-21 04:16 am (UTC)Speaking of piracy, I saw a bunch of people while I was in NYC (on the subway and streets) selling DVDs of brand new movies! I'm talking Sky Capt. and Resident Evil new. How odd. The covers looked professional, but the discs themselves were white. I wonder how good the quality was?

Date: 2004-09-21 04:30 am (UTC)In Chinatown here, in particular, you can find lots of people hocking pirated versions of movies. I haven't given into temptation, mostly out of my "I want to get paid for what I do" work ethic, but I have to admit, the temptation has been great a couple times, when the movie sold is one that isn't out in theatres yet, is one I want to see, and is actually cheaper than going to the movies.
I hear the quality is absolutely terrible, with many of the movies being recorded by guys with hand-held video cameras sitting in theatres, but I don't know first-hand.
