fake beauty pagents

I realize this isn't really different from some reality TV shows here, but still, the concept of a cosmetic surgery beauty pagent bothers me. Makes me we'd adopted China's view of beauty pagents as "bourgeois and decadent" (quote from the article) instead of China adopting our standards.
