record for email response delay?

It was a tech support question about using "talk" on quads.uchicago.edu to try and connect to a friend at Pomona -- I vaguely recall she was on a VAX at least part of the time, and I know she was a heavy BitNET chat user. Yikes! Times have changed.
What's best is that he responded via Facebook!
