I was almost asleep when this bit me:
"Forty-one days," Martinez told Cadet Sula. "Enough time for the news to reach the farthest corners of the empire, with twenty or so days left over to make preparations." And forty-one, a prime number, was a significant number for the Shaa, who loved primes and multiples of primes.
It's from Walter Jon Williams' _The Praxis_, and I can't stop giggling. It's definitely time for bed.

From a story about Spamalot:
"If I were of frat boy age and I had $100, would I opt for a Broadway ticket or would I want to spend that on booze and drugs?" Mr. Fierstein asked. "Even I, and I am as gay as a pink leather piñata, would choose booze and drugs."
